Oatly Barista Edition has become the exclusive oatmilk for The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s (CBTL) 180 US stores.
To mark its new partnership with Malmö-based Oatly, CBTL has launched a new Vanilla Spiced Oat Latte for the US market
“We're thrilled to bring Oatly to customers of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, an iconic brand that cherishes a great coffee experience just like we do. With our roots in the US inextricably tied to the coffee channel, we are so happy to continue widening our presence in this space,” said Mike Messersmith, President, Oatly North America.
Oatly’s oatmilk products are currently served at more than 2,200 US coffee shops, including prominent chains such as Aroma Joe’s, Blue Bottle Coffee and Bluestone Lane, as well as select Intelligentsia Coffee, La Colombe Coffee Roasters, George Howell, Gregory’s Coffee and Café Grumpy stores.
The business reported a 2.5% fall in third quarter sales in November 2023 to $187.6m, including a 4% fall in Americas revenue to $58.5m.
Founded in California in 1963, CBTL operates approximately 1,100 stores across 25 markets with a strong presence in Asia and the Middle East. The brand was acquired by Filipino quick-service restaurant group Jollibee Food Corporation for $350m in July 2019.
