Proof that you don’t need an expensive machine for perfect milk texture

This video is from a Japanese coffee channel and he uses a $1 milk frother to make incredible microfoam.

I see a lot of people on this thread wanting to get into this hobby because they get inspired by someone they saw at a cafe or on YouTube make a perfect cappuccino, only to be quickly overwhelmed by the innumerable details and machinery costs associated with making such a drink. I get that there are people out there who have the money and time to spend on becoming the ultimate home barista slinging espressos and perfectly textured microfoam out of their humble $10,000 dorm room setup, but I also think there far more people on this thread who just want a coffee station that doesn't break the bank. In the latter group's case, the advice that they see on this thread can encourage them towards a constant ascent to the next upgrade and then upgrade after that until the person has spent hundreds or thousands on machinery that earns them exponentially diminishing returns.

All I want to say with this post is to ask people to focus less on the machinery, the grinders, the tampers, the WDTs, puck screens, etc. and put more time into buying great coffee and learning how to maximize the equipment that they already have by improving the way in which they use it. This video goes to show that dirt cheap equipment can create microfoam indistinguishable to that from a commercial machine as long as you put the time into learning some simple techniques.

Hope you all have a lovely day.
