Neumann Kaffee Gruppe to launch new import company in Indonesia

German green coffee services giant Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (NKG) is set to expand operations in Indonesia with NKG Indonesia Imports – a new business focused on green coffee imports, storage and distribution. 
 

The new division will launch an integrated warehouse, cupping lab and import office in Jakarta’s Bumi Serpong Damai district in March 2024. The climate-controlled warehouse will be used to store imported green arabica and robusta while providing ‘unparalleled service and customised solutions’ for the growing number of coffee shops and roasters in Indonesia.   


World Coffee Portal research shows Indonesia’s branded coffee shop market grew by 10% last year to reach 4,717 outlets.

Indonesia is the world’s fourth largest coffee producer, behind Brazil, Vietnam and Colombia and typically exports more than half of its total crop. However, excessive rainfall is expected reduce total production in the 2023-24 growing year by 32% to 9.7 million 60-kg bags, according to the United States Department of Agriculture.
