Barcelona-based Incapto has raised €6m ($6.4m) to expand its coffee subscription and commercial coffee machine operations across new European markets.

Founded in 2020, Incapto has 20,000 customers across its direct-to-consumer and business-to-business specialty coffee subscription services. The start-up also has more than 2,000 workplace and horeca clients signed up to its corporate coffee platform, which includes the distribution of Incapto-manufactured super-automatic coffee machines, supplied by its coffee subscription service.

The funding round, led by Italian investment firm P101, will enable Incapto to expand its commercial and operational presence to Italy, France, and Portugal, and double the capacity of its Barcelona-based roasting and logistics centre.

“Having reached so many households and businesses in just three years motivates us to continue our mission of revolutionising the coffee world. We believe that change is unstoppable, leading towards specialty coffee, freshly ground with automatic machines, and being responsible towards coffee growers and the environment. We have positioned ourselves as a genuine alternative to coffee capsules by digitising the entire value chain, and we believe it’s time to export this model to our neighbouring countries,” said Francesc Font, Co-CEO, Incapto.

Incapto reported €4.2m ($4.4m) in sales in 2022 and expects to double revenues to more than €8m (8.5m) this year.
