Chinese budget coffee chain Cotti Coffee is set to launch a convenience store concept as part of its growth strategy.

The company said its outlets will remain focused on serving coffee beverages while adding convenience products such as instant noodles, bottled drinks, snacks, and boxed meals.

Established in 2022 by former Luckin Coffee CEO and co-founder Qian Zhiya, Cotti Coffee follows a business model of selling coffee at low margins to gain market share, with prices starting at USD$1.40 per cup. It has since expanded to 10,000 stores globally.

The company plans to open 50,000 stores by the end of this year.
