Germany’s Sprint Tank GmbH is to roll-out Costa Coffee self-serve machines across its 140 petrol stations in a bid to level up its coffee offer.
The Berlin-based business has been selling coffee across its estate since 2009 and previously partnered with Italian coffee roaster Lavazza for its self-serve offer. The partnership with Costa Coffee followed a national tender and test phase earlier this year, with the first machines rolled-out at the beginning of July 2024.

The new deal adds to Costa Coffee’s self-serve petrol station network in Europe, which includes MyAuchan petrol station stores in Romania, Shell garages in Poland and Lukoil sites in Belgium. Costa Coffee is managed in Germany by Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Germany (CCEP DE) and currently operates two bricks and mortar stores at Berlin Central Station and Karlsruhe Central Station after making its debut in 2018.
The UK-based coffee chain began rolling-out Costa Express self-serve machines in October 2020, primarily across Berlin and Cologne, and now operates more than 40 self-serve units machines in Germany – including at Sea Life Munich, Düsseldorf Airport and University Hospital Hannover.
